Brother MFC-J1300DW Driver Installer finds the latest drivers, utilities, and firmware installer for Brother Printer available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Mobile devices. The Brother MFC-J1300DW driver is an application software program that works on the computer to communicate with the Brother printer. The “Brother Printer Driver” acts as an intermediary and converts information from this program into a language. A format that the printer and operating system can understand the computer. It’s quite important to use the appropriate drivers to avoid printing problems.

Design and Features

The MFC-J1300DW is a fairly compact printer but supports duplex printing (i.e. printing on both sides of the paper). It is also an MFC (Multi-Function Center) printer – meaning it can scan, copy, and fax. I don’t know how many people still fax, but I’m glad to see that I can scan documents and directly email or upload them to my Google Drive and Evernote. Or for faster local scanning, simply plug a USB flash drive (or memory card) into the printer. The Brother MFC-J1300DW supports multi-page scanning to PDF (with searchable text) and images – which was my first test after setting up the printer. I can easily scan a multi-page document to PDF at 300 dpi (I could change it to 600 dpi but I find 300 dpi already gives me good quality) and send the PDF file to my email address.

There is an option to upload this document to many other document services online (like Evernote, Google Drive, etc) or even to FTP or SharePoint for collaboration purposes. Uploading took longer than I expected even for a 2 MB document, but it worked fine & seamlessly. Weaknesses of the Brother MFC-J1300DW printer is not equipped with a duplex scan function. But, you can scan documents manually one by one and select the scan command “To Next Page” with LCD touch screen and select “Done” after finishing. Duplex scanners are bound to add more volume and cost to the printer. So unless you need to scan hundreds of documents or contracts every day, duplex scanning is not a feature you will want to miss.
