Canon PIXMA iX6820 Black Design and features

Since this is a 13×19-inch printer, it’s unusually wide to accommodate super-tabloid paper, but other than that, it takes up very little desk space. At 23 inches, 12.3 inches front to front, and only 6.4 inches tall, it should fit your desk perfectly, and at 17.9 pounds, it’s easy to move around if you need to. All the iX6820 does is print, and it’s designed to print really well. So you won’t find any document processing features. It has no scanner and no automatic document feeder (ADF) suitable for scanning and copying. However, it supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet as well as connecting directly to a single PC via USB. Note, however, that for any of this printer’s cloud and other mobile features to work. This feature must be connected to the Internet to use.

Since this is primarily a photo printer, I haven’t calculated the cost per page. Also, I reviewed printers that use this set of cartridges, and CPP was lifted off the map. What I can tell you is that no matter what you’re printing – documents or photos – the cost per page will be high, ridiculously high. So, use it as a photo printer and enjoy it; try not to think about the price. One of the things I didn’t like about this printer was the lack of controls; there’s no control panel apart from a few buttons and status LEDs – but as I said, all it does is print. And beautiful, I should add. If you also need to print documents, and the volume exceeds a hundred pages each month, do yourself a favor.

Performance, print quality, paper handling

Canon claims 14.5 images per minute (ppm) for black and white and 10.4ipm for color. But keep in mind (as I’ve said here on About.com a few times). These are very simple text pages with little to no formatting – not what Pixma was designed for. When it comes to printing large photos (eg, 8.5″x11″ to 13″x19″). Even with large business documents with embedded graphics and photos, the Canon PIXMA iX6820 is noticeably slower. Slow is not unusual for a photo printer, especially when printing documents. As I’ve said a few times, print quality is the goal here. You have to wait a few minutes for minute pages and super tabloid tabloids. As well as images and borderless pages up to the largest size (13×19 inches), all I can say is that is what it is.

The Canon PIXMA iX6820 fifth “Pigment Black” ink makes black blacker and offers a wider range of grayscale levels and greater color depth. This Pixma, like most others, has a single paper source. A 150-sheet cassette in the bottom of the chassis. One downside here is that every time you change paper sizes. Say from letter to super tabloid and back again. You have to remove the current content, reconfigure the box, and so on.
