The Pixma TR4650 only has two cartridges and therefore requires a replacement of the color copy as soon as one of the three inks it contains runs out. These cartridges are the references PG-545 (black) and CL-546 (colors). Which must be purchased in XL format to take advantage of the lowest cost per page. We calculated a cost per page of 16.6 euro cents (€0.166) and 7.1 euro cents (€0.071) in monochrome only. Even by buying the cartridges in XL format, the note is therefore quite high.
Performance and Print Quality
The Pixma TR4650 is equipped with a 600 x 1200 dpi (or dpi) flatbed scanner. It can scan an A4 document in grayscale at 100 dpi in 11 s, or a 10 x 15 cm color photo at 300 dpi in 13 s. The TR4650, therefore, breaks no record. Copying an A4 document in black and white takes 11 s and it is necessary to wait for 19 s to do the same in color. However, there is no rendering quality. However, this TR4650 manages to offer quite correct renderings. It is capable of printing borderless photos up to 13 x 18 cm.
Printing a 10 x 15 cm photo takes 1 min 4 s. You have to wait 2 min 40 s to print a picture in A4 format, with borders, therefore. It’s long! In the office, the print quality of the Pixma TR4650 is quite correct. Its speeds are average for an inkjet printer, with around 13.3 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and 6.7 ppm in color. However, it allows you to limit your ink consumption with lower contrasts. Finally, the automatic duplex mode only reaches 4.1 ppm in monochrome.
