The Pixma MG6250 is an inkjet, color, 3-in-1, photo positioned printer. Fresh out of the new range, this model remains faithful to Canon culture and offers the versatility of use. It is aimed at those looking for a size to print quality photos and office documents. Ultra-simple to install, it makes it easy to use with an illustrated on-screen tutorial. That is reminiscent of a kind of “printer for dummies”. With its Pixma MG6250, Canon wants to offer an elegant and efficient multifunction printer. But above all gifted for all types of use. Is that the case? To find out, we had him black in and color in a few reams of paper.

Pixma MG6250

The printer is not the most aesthetic object of the high-tech park. We would like to emphasize the elegance & efficiency of the MG6250. She is pretty and well proportioned (47 x 36.7 x 17.3 cm for 9.2 kg). Although the purely aesthetic criterion is not taken into account in our rating system. The consumer who is looking for a multifunction to integrate it into his interior can be sensitive to this. You won’t be ashamed of the looks of the Pixma MG6250. Its Wi-Fi connection allows total freedom of location. In addition, a Google Print function allows, via Google Chrome. To connect it to the Internet and to be able to print from any location. The Pixma MG6250 Canon Printer is an elegant and efficient printer that offers a range of advanced features and capabilities.

Canon Pixma MG6250 Brief Description

No doubt, the Pixma printer displays a design that is both pleasant and neat, just like its ergonomics. Although it is quite flat, its size is important. It will be necessary to provide a nice space on the desk. We find that the multifunction has a nice screen and a smart control panel. Which only lights up the usable function keys, which avoids many errors. Especially since, in terms of settings, the device is well off. Printing an excellent quality photo in 10 x 15 cm took him only 42 seconds (a fast but less pretty mode allows you to go down to 20 s). On the other hand, in terms of speed, the prowess of the Pixma MG6250 is much more modest: we only managed to extract 5.8 pages per minute (ppm) in color from it. Which is quite far from the 9.3 ppm announced by the constructor.

Good in photo quality or precise in office automation, usually you have to choose. Non! Canon achieves the feat of offering very good quality office prints AND photos. It’s rare. Most so-called general-purpose printers from other manufacturers fall short in one or another area. Here are graphic, however difficult to reproduce, stands out clean, precise, and faithful in the reproduction of the gradient. The quality of photo prints is worthy of a good photo printer. The colors are less saturated than typical Canon printers. The printouts are appropriate, the image details are well transcribed into the print and have excellent resolution.

A scanner that combines quality and speed

Let’s continue with the prowess of the scanner, a CCD sensor model supposed to benefit from a better perception of details and colors. After testing, it appears that the scanning quality is at most as good as that of CIS scanners. In terms of equipment, nothing to complain about, it’s Byzantium! We find the machine very well equipped for its price. Its automatic two-sided printing module allows us to save a lot of paper, while its automatic document feeder saves us time during multiple copies and scans.

We especially appreciate its double paper tray, which allows us to double its printing autonomy or to load the printer with two types of paper. That said, we also noticed that the output tray is not designed to receive as many sheets: 2 x 150 input sheets for 1 x 100 output, this is not the point. Finally, we appreciate the good quality of the color screen and the touch control panel. This facilitates all tasks by only lighting up the usable function keys (less risk of error). Print a quick copy too with a time duration of 11 seconds for black and white copies and a duration of 13 seconds for color. The quality of the prints is, as often, quite average.

More Connections

Exemplary, this Pixma has an Ethernet network port and can accommodate a Bluetooth interface, in addition to the inevitable USB 2.0 interface and the possible Wi-Fi connection. A wealth of interfaces that allowed us to simultaneously connect the printer to our local PC, share it on the network, and connect it to the Internet through a Wi-Fi router, to access online services, and print documents and photos from a smartphone (operating with Android and iOS).

For this last operation, we only had to download a free application and install it on the smartphone. That said, this excellent connectivity also allowed us to print from a digital camera. Thanks to the PictBridge USB port, and from SD, MMC, MS, and even CF memory cards (for the lucky ones with an SLR camera). Wi-Fi is also double-sided. Its glossy cover incorporates touch keys and a 7.5 cm color screen. We secretly hoped that this new generation of printers would go all the way with a tactile screen! Well no, like Epson’s high-end devices, only the keyboard is tactile, with backlit keys to only offer those that are appropriate for the selected function. Other features of the Pixma MG6250 include built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, which allows you to print from virtually anywhere in your home or office, and compatibility with a range of mobile printing apps.
