What type of printer do you find useful?
3-in-1 Printer
Most PIXMA printers are all-in-one printers which, apart from printing, copying, and scanning, are also referred to as 3-in-1 printers. Copy and scan options and features vary by model. The following Canon PIXMA ranges have 3-in-1 printers: MG Series, TS Series, MX Series, and G Series.
4-in-1 Printer
There are also all-in-one printers that in addition to printing, copying, and scanning, also allow faxing. This is a 4-in-1 printer. At Canon, the PIXMA TR Series of printers offers this type of printer. For business tasks, this remains a simple option, with which you can send documents quickly.
Just print
Not much, but the Canon PIXMA iP Series offers a printer you can only use for printing. This printer is portable and therefore has no additional features. There are also models from the PIXMA TS Series, for example, that print only, but this is an exception.

How Fast Do You Want Your Canon PIXMA Printer To Print?
Fast
Print speed is important if you have a small (home) office. You don’t want to wait for your colleagues for a long time or maybe you print a lot of documents per day. At Canon, there are 2 ranges of printers that print your documents quickly, namely the PIXMA TS and TR.
Medium
Medium speed is good if you don’t want a slow printer, but also don’t need to print dozens of pages per minute. The PIXMA MG, MX and iP ranges have printers that print an average of 10 pages per minute. Note that this varies by printer.
Not important
Speed is not important at all and you want the prints to look particularly good? Then Canon’s PIXMA G series printers are for you. These printers mainly focus on low consumption costs. Which means that you print at a relatively low price.
How does the printer use ink?
Separate cartridges
In individual cartridges, each color has a separate cartridge. Therefore, you only buy colors that are almost empty. The number of individual cartridges increases to at least 5 with photo printers, as the printer uses additional shades to provide photos with even more color contrast. You have separate cartridges with the PIXMA TR printers and also with certain printers of the MG, MX, and TS range.
Colors in 1 cartridge
A separate black and color cartridge is also possible. The color cartridge allows you to print all colors, so you no longer need to buy colors separately. This means that you pay for a maximum of 2 cartridges at a time, which reduces purchase costs. This is still the case with PIXMA iP printers and with some MG, MX, and TS series printers.
Ink tanks
Only PIXMA G series printers have ink tanks. This range is also called Megatank. This means that you don’t buy cartridges, but fill the reservoirs with ink bottles. Refilling is very easy and with full tanks, you can print over 10,000 black and color pages combined. Another advantage is that you can easily see what the ink level is and know when to refill the ink.
